October 10 News
Our Life Long Learners program is up and running! The first class, Beginning Knitting, started on October 7, and a good time was had by all as evidenced by comments about dropping stitches and holes and “what do I do next” and “ hey, I did it” were heard coming from the new youth fiction room. Carolyn Kelly, assisted by Janet Saxton, taught the group of eight knitters.
Our After School Homework Center has been active for a month now. While we have had only one or two students needing help each session, we will continue to make arrangements to have high school and adult volunteers at the library to assist elementary school students with their homework.
New books coming to the library this fall and early winter include Can’t Take My Eyes Off You by Judith McNaught, Dawn of a New Day by Gilbert Morris, The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks, The Letters by Luanne Rice, Dark Summer by Iris Johansen, The Grand Finale by Janet Evanovich, The Quilter’s Kitchen by Jennifer Chiaverini, A Lick of Frost by Laurell K. Hamilton, Extreme Measures by Vince Flynn.
Many thanks to Serena Largent, Ann Barker, Marty P., Dawn Heron, Amy Taul, Erin Martin, and the Library Board of Trustees for their generous donations to the library!
