Internet Use Policy
The Brighton Memorial Library provides access to the Internet through AT & T DSL. Internet access is available as an additional information resource on the library's computers. It is the intention of the library to extend this service as a privilege to our patrons. Patrons should not assume that this use is a right nor is it the obligation of the library to provide this access.
The computer at Brighton Memorial Library is for educational and information use only, not for unauthorized, illegal, or unethical purposes. Viewing of certain materials in the public library may be considered improper in time, place, or manner. Without wishing to censor access, the library staff reserves the right to prohibit material that in their judgment is inappropriate for viewing ni the public area. This may include material that the patron does not find personally offensive. The Board of Trustees reserves the right for the library staff to restrict access to the internet when necessary.
Parent of minor children (under age 18) must assume responsbility for their children's use of the internet at Brighton Memorial Public Library. Children 12 years old and younger must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian while on the internet. As with other library materials, restriction of a child's access to information on the internet is the responsibility of the parent or guardian.
