The theme this year was “Scare Up a Good Book”, and did we have some scary things going on at the library! We had about 75 children participating each week of the six week program, which included reading scary stories, playing scary games, and making scary projects.
Twenty-nine of the children read a total of 605 books! These 29 read at least 15 books during the program, wrote them on their reading logs, and turned them in to earn book bucks, Gateway Grizzly passes, and a chance to win Cardinal Baseball tickets. And some of the 29 turned in more than one reading log! The Summer Reading Program winning readers include:
